The Definitive Guide to Creating an Airbnb Bathroom
What should an Airbnb Bathroom have in it?
Your Airbnb needs to have the basics in its bathroom. This includes toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a towel for each person. But if you are a Superhost or trying to reach Superhost status, the bathroom is a great place to go the extra mile and get those 5-star reviews. In this article, I will go through how I set up my Airbnb bathrooms, so they look and feel like a 5-star spa experience.
How do I set up an Airbnb bathroom?
Setting up an Airbnb bathroom is an art. I first set the style of my entire Airbnb and make sure the bathroom is in alignment with the look and feel of the rest of the space. You can read more about short term rental interior design here. After I’ve established the style of my home, colors and materials I’m using throughout the home, I get to work on setting up the bathroom.
I think about the bathroom set up in 3 zones. Zone 1 is the sink, Zone 2 is the toilet, and Zone 3 is the shower.
Airbnb Bathroom Zone 1: The Sink
When setting up the sink area, the activities you need to provide items for are: washing hands, brushing teeth, shaving, and doing makeup. For washing hands, you need soap, lotion, and a hand towel. For hand towels, you can opt for white which is easy to bleach, or you can buy something more decorative like Turkish hand towels. I provide a hand towel holder or hook for the towel to hang on. I’m not a fan of the standard circular towel holders, they look ugly and fall off the wall, often causing the need to constantly repair them. For makeup removal, I fill apothecary jars with makeup remover wipes, Q-tips, and cotton rounds. I also provide black makeup remover washcloths. These are cute and save your white towels from makeup stains.
Airbnb Bathroom Zone 2: The Throne
Now, let's talk about Zone 2, the toilet area. To ensure your guests have everything they need, it's essential to have a few items on hand. I highly recommend a soft close toilet lid. It’s very jarring for your guests to be wakened up in the middle of the night by someone slamming down the toilet seat after a midnight pee. Consider placing a stylish toilet paper holder within easy reach, loaded with high-quality, soft toilet paper. Nobody likes scratchy TP You can also provide a small basket or shelf with spare rolls, just in case. To make sure the bathroom stays smelling fresh, provide bathroom spray on the back of the toilet or on a shelf. Finally, a covered small trash can and decorative bathroom sign letting guests know not to flush anything other than TP down the toilet will save your plumbing in the long run.
Airbnb Bathroom Zone 3: The Shower
Zone 3, the shower area, is where you can truly elevate the guest experience. Consider providing a selection of high-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in sleek, refillable dispensers to reduce waste. Don't forget a shower caddy or shelf to keep these items organized and easily accessible. For an added touch of luxury, invest in plush, quick-drying bath towels, and towel bathmats that can easily be washed after each guest. To create a spa-like atmosphere, consider placing a waterproof Bluetooth speaker and a cute on-theme shower curtain to set the mood for a relaxing shower.
Crafting an exceptional bathroom experience in your Airbnb can be the key to achieving Superhost status and securing those coveted 5-star reviews. By thoughtfully curating each of the three bathroom zones, you can ensure your guests feel pampered and comfortable throughout their stay.
