How to help your guests stay fit in your Airbnb
Your Airbnb guests work out
I’ve been on a fitness journey ever since I had my son because going through pregnancy can really take a toll on the mama (am I, right ladies?) As someone who does a fair amount of traveling, I can’t stop my workout and healthy eating routine just because I’m not at home and I don’t expect my guests want to do that either.
This post will walk you through how to help your guests maintain their healthy routines while staying in your Airbnb. A healthy Airbnb will give you a unique selling point for future potential guests.

Working out in your Airbnb
Trying to stick to a fitness routine while staying in a strange place can be a challenge. As an Airbnb host, it’s your job to create a guide for your guests on how to make that possible.
Hiking guide
If your rental is in a remote location with no gyms around put together a list of hiking or nature walks in the area to help your guests get in their 10,000 steps.
Workout equipment
You can also offer some simple home gym equipment like a yoga mat, hand weights, and resistant bands. All of these items are available on Amazon for less than $55
Workout videos
Dust off those VHS tapes of Jane Fonda and put them in your rental … I kid. But seriously, if you offer cable or a smart TV do some research on where your guests can find workout videos that they can do in your space.
Gym guide
Some of your guests prefer to hit the gym. Do some research on nearby gyms and what their drop-in rate or free trial looks like. Many offer a free 7-day trial and that’s all they will need depending on the length of their stay.
Eating healthy in your Airbnb
We all know it’s hard to count calories when traveling but hosts can make it easier on guests by stocking their kitchen with fitness in mind. Below are things you can do inside and outside of your rental to help guests hit their healthy eating goals.
Stock your kitchen
If you have a kitchen in your rental make sure it is well stocked. People that eat healthily often cook their own food. If you have no idea what a well-stocked kitchen looks like check out this blog post from Rental Recon: https://www.rentalrecon.com/airbnb-kitchen-essentials-supplies-checklist/
A few items that are a huge bonus for healthy eaters are:
Restaurant guide
You might already have a restaurant guide, but not a healthy eating restaurant guide. Include restaurants with healthy options including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dining options. And point out your favorite menu items. (If you’ve never eaten there check out Yelp.com for some good ideas.)
Grocery store guide
Not all grocery stores are created equal. Find a health food store to point guests to and if there are farmer’s markets in the area, include them in your guide as well.
What about the host?
This all sounds well and good in theory, but as a host why would you make this a priority when you have a million other things to worry about?
Become a shining Star: Adding extra amenities gives you a stand out talking point when talking to future potential guests (FPG.)
Rebookings: Guests will come back to your place when you make life easy on them.
Make your listing stand out: You can take photos of your workout equipment, the view from a hike or the local Farmer’s market and include it in your listing photos, welcome book or your digital guide book.
Social media: You can use photos of all of your health-related items to build out your social media presence and create marketing buzz to increase bookings of your property. Here are a few hashtags you can use to promote your fitness guide: #airbnbworkout #travelworkout #travelworkouts #travelworkouttips #healthytravel #eatwelltraveloften
